Less Talk, More Play…

1 building, 48 hours, 5 teams… 

Ladies and Gentlemen, may we present to you our first ever Gameshack!  Over 48 hours, from 9.30am, Thursday 1st-2nd March 2012, M&C Saatchi will host their first collaborative Hack Day in partnership with The Department of Computing at Goldsmiths, at M&C Saatchi’s headquarters in Golden Square.

GAMESHACK, will bring 5 teams of multi-skilled talent from across the M&C Saatchi Group, and Goldsmiths to create a game or games based around a theme of “Less Talk, More Play” – with the only rules being to have fun, create, push yourself, and make something truly wonderful to play. 

Lisa Thomas, Global CEO of M&C Saatchi commented “This is a collaboration between centres of excellence and quality, matching emerging talent with an international advertising agency.”

Over an intense 48 hours the teams will be supported by; Andy Thomasson – Goldsmith’s (University of London) MSC Computer Games & Entertainment course senior lecturer, Rik Lander – BBC Interactive drama creator, filmmaker, games developer and, founder of Touch Thing, Jim Hall – game creator and inventor of award Winning Isle of Tune, Andy Ng, Design Director of M&C Saatchi’s Digital Hub, and Dom Baker, Innovation Manager at M&C Saatchi.

To up-the-ante the judging panel will be made up of friends and partners of the agency including Lisa Thomas – Global CEO of M&C Saatchi, Professor William Latham and Professor Frederic Fol Leymarie – Goldsmiths (University of London), Charlotte Morten – Google, David Cooper of Spotify and Duncan Geere from Wired magazine.

Thus far, we've broken bread.  Now let the games (or rather the work) begin...
