M&C Saatchi Publishes Book

February 7th, 2012

How did two wheels emancipate women?

How can a caterpillar change the world?

How did one good turn make the paper clip?

How can a pie save thousands of  lives?

How do you speak to the unborn?

M&C Saatchi's first book celebrates moments when Brutal Simplicity of Thought truly changed the world. And now, following the hard-back release towards the end of 2011, Ebury Publishing are launching the e-book edition on iPad.

Simplicity looks easy. It’s not. It’s easier to complicate than simplify. This book presents deceptively simple examples of concepts that have changed the world – from the single piece of paper that gave birth to the most powerful nation in the history of the world, to the symbol and line that enables us to write music.

Unlike other works written by agency founders, BRUTAL SIMPLICITY OF THOUGHT is neither a How-To-Do-It book nor a How-I-Did-It book. Instead, it aims to make us to see the world afresh.

Brutal Simplicity of Thought is the distillation, in words and pictures of the Saatchi approach.  Each page is art-directed like a DPS ad, designed to catch your attention, inform you and then leave you, having sold you the power of Simplicity.
