In his role as President of the EACA, Moray MacLennan has launched an initiative designed to inspire young Europeans to take control of their futures by starting up their own businesses. M&C Saatchi devised the campaign which seeks to introduce a positive voice into the future of Europe debate.
Prompted by an article in Time Magazine called "The decline and fall of Europe" and seeing a quote from Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone proclaiming ‘I think Europe is finished. It will be a good place for tourism but little else. Europe is a thing of the past.’ Moray felt that the EACA, as leaders in Communication in Europe, should use their skillset to improve Europe’s image and motivate its youth.
Behind the campaign is a digital platform that seeks to create a Europe-wide mentoring scheme for young people, to help them convert their ideas into action www.thisismyfuture.eu
The initiative has already received widespread support; with backing from Facebook, Google, Start Up Britain, JA-YE, Wayra and the Director of Communication, Projects and Strategy at DG COMM Alain Dumort endorsed it in his keynote speech at the LibDem Party Conference on Sunday. The New York Times, the Sunday Times and the Evening Standard have all covered it in this week’s press.
